Stringers Pontefract Motorways has taken delivery of a new Mellor Strata LF, marking its first order with Mellor and has subsequently been the first to order a Strata Ultra since its reveal at Euro Bus Expo last autumn.
The Strata LF, based on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis, supplements Stringers’ existing fleet of 11 vehicles and is used primarily on local routes and school contracts.
Engineered with accessibility in mind, the Strata range offers a variety of internal layout configurations to accommodate the needs of all passengers regardless of mobility. It offers superior suitability to coach and bus operators thanks to its compact build and weight, allowing it to operate in areas where larger coaches would be inhibited
Building on the success of the Strata as the model of choice for many customers, the range delivers fuel efficiency that is unrivalled in any rear-engine bus. Mellor believes that the Strata is positioned to raise the bar for economy in the small bus sector due to its modern feel and class-leading performance.
Jane Dransfield, area sales manager for Mellor, says: “Stringers was keen to add a Strata to its fleet, having heard of Mellor’s exceptional build quality and aftersales support. It has had positive experiences in the past with the Mercedes Benz platform chassis and were keen to invest in another.”
Commenting on his experience with Mellor, Mark Stringer, owner of Stringers Coaches, says: “Mellor’s products come highly recommended. Its attention to detail and customer support has been exceptional. Everyone we have dealt with has been responsive and have kept us in the loop throughout the purchasing process.”
Jane Dransfield adds: “We are pleased to supply Stringers coaches with a Strata LF and delighted to take the first order for an Ultra from them which we’re sure will be another perfect fit for their operation.”
Stringers Pontefract Motorways is the longest established coach operator in Pontefract and surrounding areas, originally serving as a taxi operation in 1946. The business has been run by three generations of the Stringer family and currently offers day excursions, private tours, contract and private hire.
