Irizar wins another Luxembourg order for electrics

 

Luxembourg operator Voyages Simon has ordered six 12m battery electric Irizar ie buses, together with their charging infrastructures and maintenance and repair contracts, for delivery this year.

 

The ie bus is a equipped with Irizar Group technology, both the electronics and communication facilities and the power train, battery modules and charging systems.

 

The 42-seaters will have space for one wheelchair and total passenger capacity, including standees, of 72. Irizar says they have an autonomous range of 220km (135miles) between overnight charges delivered by interoperable chargers with Combo-CCS2 connectors developed and manufactured by the Irizar Group.

 

The Spanish-built vehicles will operate different lines in the city of Luxembourg and will be delivered in June. Although they are the first of their type for Voyages Simon, they will take to 27 the number of Irizar ie buses in service there, as Voyages Emilie Weber has already taken delivery of seven, with 14 more on order.
