A great leap forward for VAMOOZ – and another charity boost by the Harrogate Bus Company

Only weeks after the Harrogate Bus Company launched their new travel concept, VAMOOZ, with three sold-out crowdfunded trips to support the One Love Manchester benefit concert, the first 100 free tickets have been snapped up and several more trips are now available.

VAMOOZ is an app-based travel concept, offering trips and new links in response to customer demand. If there is demand for a trip, whether it’s a day trip, journey to an event or a new route to a school or business, VAMOOZ is set up to bring ideas into reality.

This weekend the VAMOOZ bus was in action again, to support Saint Michael’s Hospice for their 30th anniversary fundraising skydive. Saint Michael’s provides hospice care to people in the Harrogate district living with terminal illness, and trains others to provide hospice care.

The Harrogate Bus Company donated the VAMOOZ bus to take the volunteers and organisers to the event which saw 30 volunteers from Harrogate businesses, including VAMOOZ manager Rebecca Reeve-Burnett, do a sponsored skydive from 15,000 feet.

VAMOOZ Manager Rebecca, commented: “We’re proud to be supporting Saint Michael’s Hospice, which does such great work in the local area. They looked after my grandma when she needed them so the cause means a lot to me personally, as well as being a fantastic local charity.

“With VAMOOZ going from strength to strength, it feels good to be giving something back to the local community. I’m quite excited about the skydive although 15,000 feet will seem much scarier when I’m up there ready to jump!”

Alex Hornby, Chief Executive of the Harrogate Bus Company, added: “With VAMOOZ we’re capturing the imagination of people who want to link into places our normal bus network doesn’t serve. We’re offering the bus as a donation on this occasion, and VAMOOZ is the perfect way because the message that we can offer quick and direct links for groups carries through.”

Saint Michael’s spends £5million each year providing their vital services and most of this comes from the generous support of the local community. To donate in support of its 30th anniversary visit
